Sticky

Posted by korki at 09:27 AM on September 21, 2003 in General as a stickied post.

Decided to make a sticky entry to explain right up front what this journal is used for. That way you wont have to read further and be bored. Because it will be boring to most everyone but me.

Planet Hollywood Shooters from Top Secret Recipes

Posted by korki at 03:55 PM on December 30, 2003.

Top Secret Recipes version of Planet Hollywood® Shooters by Todd Wilbur

It's New Year's Eve, it's time for shooters and you haven't a clue what to make. Don't worry, I've got your back. Pick any one of these clone recipes for shooters from Planet Hollywood and you'll be tonight's big hero. By the way, it's best to start at the top of the list (Blue Hawaii). See, I told you, I've got your back.

Blue Hawaii
3/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce blue curacao liqueur
splash pineapple juice
splash sweet & sour mix

Bubble Gum
3/4 ounce vodka
3/4 ounce banana liqueur
splash cranberry juice
splash grenadine

Grape Crush
3/4 ounce vodka
3/4 ounce DeKuyper Pucker Grape Liqueur
splash sweet & sour mix
splash Chambord liqueur

1. Combine all ingredients for your choice of shooter in a shaker with a handful of ice, and shake well.
2. Strain into a 2-ounce shot glass and serve.

Makes 1 shooter.

Blends

Posted by korki at 09:39 AM on November 4, 2003 in Aromatherapy.

Mixed up a couple more batchs of salts over the weekend. Got them all packaged last night and then mixed up three more blends. Will let them blend for a couple days and see what my reactions are. Will post the blends and notes here later. Thought I had them with me but left them at home. So far I like two of the three and maybe with a small adjustment to one of those two I will like it even better. Plus I may not have been smelling them correctly last night. I spilled a bit of patchouli. I love that oil and it is one of my favorite fragrances, but when you spill a little it can be a bit overpowering. I was smelling it all night long. So because of that it may have tainted my smelling concepts last night and things might not have been smelling like they really did. Most of the odor was gone this morning when I got up so things should be better for testing tonight.

I have decided that regardless of how much it costs I need to get some Frankincense. So many blends that I am trying call for that component. It runs around $60.00 per 1/2 oz. I have put off buying it because of the price. But I guess I may have to indulge.

Found a nice little piece of aromatherapy software that was free. It doesn't look like it is being updated or anything but I really don't care. It can be found here. It has 130 oils listed with characteristics. Oils can be removed, added and edited. There is all kinds of characteristics listed so I don't have to visit lots of web sites to find the info. There is a section where you can put recipes. Will be nice for keeping track of blends and info on each. I think it will be a nice little program for me.

Bath Bomb Recipe

Posted by korki at 10:00 AM on October 26, 2003 in Aromatherapy.

Wanted to put my favorite bath bomb recipe on here for easy access. This recipe is a combination of two seperate recipes I found. This has turned out to be one of my favorite recipes although I will admit it can be a bit tricky to work with sometimes.

(Recipe)

I picked up a work table yesterday. It is similiar to a card table except in size. It is longer and narrower instead of square. Measures 20" x 48". I couldn't find just a plain card table without the chairs. Since I didn't want the chairs I thought I would give this table a try. It is really better. Gives me plenty of room to mix at one end and then lay my product at one end after unmolding. So one work surface is doing the job of several for me.
